Indian Oil signs MOU with UOP Honeywell in R&D
Honeywell arm, IOC team up
UOP LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Honeywell International Inc. has
entered into a memorandum of understanding with Indian Oil Corporation
Ltd (IOC) to work together on bio fuels projects in India. According
to a statement issued by UOP, "The two companies will collaborate on
research and development for a range of bio fuel technologies and
projects in India." They would evaluate installation of a
demonstration-scale unit to produce green transportation fuels at an
existing Indian Oil site using non-food feedstock available within the
country. The two companies would also examine the viability of
pyrolysis oil technology to covert lignocellulosic materials, or plant
biomass, into renewable power and heat. IOC would also focus on
research and development for the production of algal oil for use as a
feedstock in the green fuels production.
